Hi Guys.

You’ve helped me before with your advise and I wonder if you could help me with another problem.

I left Uk a year ago but still got contract with Virgin mobile for two phones.

Mine and my daughter.

I'm paying monthly for minutes and text plus for two phones.

I never been in arrears with them but now I've got to the point where I can't longer afford to continue paying those bills.

I still got over a year on both contracts owning in total around £1200.

My question is

what would happen if I would stop making payments?

Is mobile phone debt a priority debts?

I just don't know how to deal with such situation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I.

  • dx100uk changed the title to unable to continue with Virgin mobile pay monthly contract - now in poland

safe to stop and ignore.

priority debts are those that keep a UK roof over your head

a mobile is most certainly not one that can ever threaten that

nor are you even in the uk ...so...

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Thank you Dx.

Why when checked online every website states that mobile phone debts are priority debsts?

Shall I cancel both contracts in writing?

Or better to setup small repayment plan with them?

Again thanks very much for you time

I.

Also, I understand that when I'll stop DD my phone would be disconnected. But what about the phones themselves? They haven’t been fully paid off so how would they recover the money for it?

Thank you for all the advice

Could you please advise what is the best way to reach out to them and inform them about my circumstances?

It's very stressful situation and I don't want to say or write a wrong thing.

Again, thank you

Hi Dx

I've checked and my outstanding balance on both phones is 720 pounds not 1200.

I also tried to change my address with them but they saying I need to have valid UK address, otherwise they will keep using my previous address.

Do you recommend sending them letter informing them that about my new address ?

Thank you

I.
