If its any help I'm dealing with a similar issue with rac

They insisted on starting an engine with no coolant in (burst radiator) to drive onto a recovery vehicle and again to get it off at the other end the engine now has no compression and the garage suspects burnt piston rings

It's taking several months due to the garage not looking at it but it's moving to a different garage this week to get the cost and report - however it's looking likely to be uneconomical to repair

I emailed rac ceo email (ceoemails.Com) and have a reply that they will consider liability once the report is received - it may be worth contacting them this way
