Wescot and paypal debt - buyer not received item

Sold item on ebay, posted item to buyer after receiving payment. Buyer claims non receipt, ive now received 2 letters from westcot demanding £103.i know i should have sent the item recorded delivery, but wife was in hospital so i forgot to send it this way.will westcot take me to court? Am on low income and cant afford to pay this.

Just remember a DCA is NOT  BAILIFF

Any cards linked to paypal account should be reported to your bank as lost or stolen. This stops paypal taking money from them.

cancelling the cards does NOT remove the CPA.

easiest way is simply to remove the funding from paypal.

you can remove the authority for them to make automatic payments, that is easy. they may insist that you keep a payemtn method on their files but that doesnt mean that they can dip into your bank account. I would tell the bank you have cancelled any authority that paypal had and that way if they do grab your money the bank is liable.

 

Now it is common for crooked buyers to claim non receipt of posted items where a sig is required. there is a way to defeat such a claim but too late now. In th future you send out recorded or you will "lose" every item you send.

Did you get any proof of postage from the Post Office when you sent the item?

 

Most item through Royal Mail have some tracking that let you know the item has been put out for delivery. It isn't like signed for.

 

Did the buyer open a case through eBay or straight to Paypal?
