Hi

I had a loan over 10 years ago so decided to check if am due any PPI back,

firstly I contacted a few companies who say they do a free check but then when you speak to them you find out they want a percentage if you are due any money.

I went to my bank directly to find out, thought how hard can It be.

I have a credit card also with them.

They have sent me a PPI questionaire that I have fill and return within 14 days.

It is really detailed about the sale of your PPI policy, use of the PPI policy, about the money borrowed, personal saving, employment status etc etc

Anyone got any experience of these forms, do I need to fill them all in? or can I just walk into branch as them to help fill them in?

thanks

Start off by sending an SAR to the bank asking for all the information they hold upon you on any matter and in any form. Send your request to: –

DSAR Unit Lloyds TSB

Customer Service recovery

Charlton Place

C46

Andover SP10 1RE

Accompanied by a cheque for £10 which is the statutory fee. It will take 40 days for them to respond – and they may not even respond after that because it seems that they frequently breach their statutory obligations. You ask whether you to simply walk into the branch and asked them to fill in the form. Haven't you had enough trouble already with PcWorld and Knowhow? Maybe you just like being a victim.

Exercise caution at all times. Act independently and get all the information you can. Once you think you have got everything you need then you can start asking the bank and see what they say but at least you are then prepared to challenge them if you realise that they are trying to shortchange you.

Send the SAR and then come back here when you have some information

If they don't respond then it implies that they don't really care and not enough customers challenge them. They will respond but whether they respond on time and whether they make a complete disclosure is another matter. At the end it will be up to you as to how much trouble you want to make. I'm afraid that these companies are bigger than you and of course the people who do their shoddy work get paid for it whereas you have to make trouble for them for free. It's always a tough call because quite reasonably most customers one just a simple and straightforward and honest life.

There is a template somewhere. Maybe you have to follow the link SAR

get that sar running icemen.

read all the posts in the sar link first too.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
