hi all. can anyone help. I had a 3000 loan with ulster bank (RBS dealing with it) of which 435 they say was PPI.

the loan was from 2003-2006 and i think the interest rate was around 13%.

Can anyone work it out.

Also i had a burtons card (santander dealing) were they offered 406.90. the ppi paid was 174.06 and was from sept 2004 to to 2006. they have reconstructed the account from 2004-aug 2005 as they said they have no transaction history. but they do have the transactions from 2005 onwards. I have sent of a SARi. Can anyone help. Thanks

interest rate on the loan is immaterial as its front loaded PPI.

I had a long talk with someone who used to work for the Santander archiving department – in the days that they were still the Abbey bank. She told me that they kept all their records back to 1933. In the 60s they were microfiche.

Have you had the result of your SAR yet?

No I haven't but il post here when I find out.

As for the other loan I phone rbs today and asked for a break down of how they reached the figures they did. He said they don't send this out, they just enter the total amount of ppi paid into a calculator.

Can this be right? TIA
