PCM parking 'fine' - in my own flat parking space permit left off dash

Hello all,

 

A friend has referred me to this website as I've got an issue with a PCM parking fine.

 

We have a car park that requires permits to be displayed

last week my car was issued with a parking fine outside my home.

 

 

Unfortunately on this occasion I had forgotten to put my permit back up in the window

and the next day the car was issued a fine.

 

 

The permit is not stuck in my window as we transfer it between cars.

I move the permit onto the car floor when driving as I cannot drive with the reflection of the permit

on my dash in the windscreen.

 

This is highly frustrating as it was a simple error made on my behalf,

and I shouldn’t have to pay the fine when I have a permit and I parked outside my own property.

 

When making an appeal to PCM - what would be the best approach?

I made a genuine mistake and can prove I have a permit.

 

Do you think this will be sufficient and could you provide further advise?

It isn't a fine, it's an invoice begging you for money you don't owe.

 

What does your tenancy agreement say about parking?

 

Are you allocated a parking space?

 

Was this a NTD (ticket on the screen)?

 

If so, then wait for the notice to keeper to arrive, DO NOT divulge who the driver is.

 

The agreement this PPC has is between them and the Landlord, not you. So your tenancy agreement should trump anything your LL (which is?) and the PPC have agreed.

Ok, do you have an allocated space with the flat or is it free-for-all parking for the residents? Knowing that will help decide how to tackle but generally residents permit schemes are an administrative convenience for the managing agents and have no real authority so there is no need to pay. As it was a ticket slapped on the car wait for the notice to keeper to be issued which must be between 29 and 56 days after the parking event. Outsode these times and it isnt valid.

Many parking co's cant get the basics right so dont be tempted to do their job for them and contact them,make them do all the work and spend their money on stamps and envelopes, not you..
