Notice they refer to the charges as fines in the article, but fines they are certainly not. If they tried to get a court judgment and fine was anywhere in their application they are stuffed.

We could do with some help from you.

This bugs me too. Perhaps they don't want to confuse people with the difference between fine and parking charge (also known as 'dumbing down')

Possibly, or the press take the information that they are fines at face value. If the PPC put they were seeking judgment for an unpaid Parking Fine anywhere in an application for a CCJ they would be on a sticky wicket.

We have been recommending that people complain to the FCA, MOJ, Trading Standards and of course DCBL. What I think I will do is try and find the company that makes 'Can't Pay' and inform them of the practice that a company they highlight is using less than honest ways. I'm sure DCBL won't like their TV appearances to be cut off.

There were some strong words about this company at a trade event on Wednesday. Unfortunately, a DCLG spokesperson cancelled their attendance (and presentation) earlier that morning otherwise I would have raised my concerns to them also.

A new tactic employed by DCBL is to have the Channel 5 logo on their documentation advertising their TV programme...'Can't Pay we will Take It Away'. This clearly gives the impression to the person receiving these notices that if payment is not made, an officer will attend their premises and take their goods.

PS: For any viewers reading this, DCBL CANNOT take your goods in relation to these private parking ticket debts.
