Hi,

I declared my car SORN after failing MOT

but stupidly did not take to scrap yard immediately

and left parked on road outside front of house for several weeks.

I woke one morning to find the car had been clamped,

I phoned clampers who said I could pay removal Fee and surety of £260

or have the car removed and that would be it.

I was led to believe end of story.

I have now received a fine from DVLA for unlicensed vehicle,

an out of court settlement offer of £210.

The letter states my vehicle was SORN but seen on "john Smith " street which is actually 2 streets away and my vehicle has never moved an inch from outside my house.

I know I was lazy with taking car to scrap but could I get off from this further expense on the technicality of wrong address ?

Any advice much appreciated.

I doubt it

as you state t was on the public highway when sorn.

could simply be the logging system used [gps I suspect] of the clampers van playing up.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
