Barclays put a default on my credit record 2 years ago. They sent me a letter terminating my account but I do not recall this or have any paperwork from Barclays that informs me of the default. I no longer owe them any money and last week I called them to and asked them to send me a copy of the Default Notice that they should have sent me 2 years ago. This morning an unsigned copy of the Termination Notice arrived. Although it mentions that barclays will register details of the account with credit reference agencies, it at no point during the letter refers to a Default being placed on my account.

Where do I go from here?

At the time I put the claim through I was unaware of a default. I have no paperwork informing me that Barclays defaulted me.

Can I write and request them to remove the default due to the fact that I at no time received correspondence informing me of the default?
