Hi Guys,

I have recently applied for the mortgage and has been told there is default in my credit report. I checked my credit and found there is £54 default from Vodafone Gemini, which really shocked me.

As i have been use vodafone for almost 15 years until now, as loyalty customer I paid my bills by direct debt, totally no idea how this default came from. Then i have contacted with Vodafone live chat couple of times since 10/03/2015. Every time I contacted them they said they had made request for me to investigate it and told me it will be removed soon. However, until now nothing changed and no one help to solve it!

live chat customer service just waste my time, they let me wait for 14 working days and when i contacted them again they asked me wait another 14 working days:mad2:

And I really wanna to make complaint about this, the default seems mistake made by Vodafone. How come I continue use the Vodafone until now and never been informed i have default in my account, and when i contact them no one actually come out to help to investigate. Even i post my problem on the Vodafone eforum as well, no one reply me!!!

Really need someone give advice to remove this wrong default from my credit report.

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to CAG. Sorry you were missed.

At CAG, we have a Vodafone rep who has had some success with our members so your first port of call is to follow the instructions in this thread.

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?213340-Vodafone-Webteam-for-Customers-With-Problems-**UPDATED-November-2014**&p=2343766&viewfull=1#post2343766

Ensure you post up on this thread the automated reply reference number so that the VF rep can find you.

If you have never owed VF anything, this default should be removed. If however, you have had issues in the past then that may explain the default.

I personally think this is yet another VF cock up.

I think that you should let Lee (or one of his colleagues) deal first.

I assume that you were turned down for the mortgage therefore IF the default is wrong then you would be entitled to some form of compensation.

Can you give the date of the default?

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor

Thanks silverfox1961

Thanks for the instruction, I have got the automated reply reference number from Vodafone which is #9959379 and hope someone can help to remove this default from my credit report.

I can't believe I have a default from Vodafone, because I have been use the Vodafone for 15 years until now!! The default date is 09/2012, now my mortgage application suspended and I also have to pay for the membership fee for the credit Agency (Equifax) now as the 30days trial nearly finished and the problem still not been solved.

You have done everything right so far and we can see the reference number. I will copy the number to the thread title to make it easier for any VF rep to find.

Cancel the free trial. You can get a statutory report for £2 or you could use Noddle who do a free service although they require a credit/debit card number for ID verification (you won't get charged)

Hopefully one of the reps will see this and respond. If it fails to work, we can go higher to the CEO

Hi Lee,

Thanks for contacted me and help to investigated my default.

I have received your email on 07.04.2015 said the wrongly default will be removed and which will take two working days to update my credit file with reference agencies. However, until today 10.04.2015 when i checked my credit report with Equifax, the default still there and nothing has been changed yet. As you know my mortgage application already been suspended for more than a month now because of this wrongly placed default, so could you double check it and let me know when the default can be removed? Thanks.

Please keep checking your file. Sometimes it takes longer than said for the removal to go through the credit reference agencies systems.

Hi Silverfox1961.

Lee has helped to solve my problem. My wrongly placed default has been deleted from my credit file. Vodafone said I've been the victim of impersonation fraud.

Firstly, I have to say big thank you to you and Lee to help me solved this terrible problem. Mr. Lee is the great rep. from Vodafone, he sorted out this in one week time.

Secondly, I wanna to say even Vodafone said the default is impersonation fraud, but what if i am not apply for the mortgage i won't know there is a default in my credit, and which has been against me since 2012! This is really damaged my credit for almost three years and delayed my mortgage application, which i have to redo it again. Therefore, just wondering can I claim any compensation from Vodafone about this?

Meanwhile, silverfox1961 could you please updated my subject with 'RESOLVED'. Thanks.

I feel they should offer one of their famous 'Gestures of Goodwill' but to claim compensation, you would have to prove a loss.

Since the default, have you been turned down for a credit card, offered one but at a higher rate? If yes then you could claim

Not sure about the mortgage as that hasn't been refused, just placed on hold.

I would think that you could claim for the CRA fees but that's about all I can think of
