Magistrate Court Fines...Distress Warrants/Warrants of Control....Official response from HMCTS

[Bailiff Advice]

Since 6th April the fees that can be charged by bailiffs enforcing Magistrate Court fines comes under the new regulations (£75 and £235).

 

For anyone who considers that the fees are excessive they may wish to reflect on the following!!!

 

This is a copy of an official document from the Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) detailing the agreed fees that the four bailiff companies could charge to debtors when enforcing Magistrate Court distress warrants in 2006 (when the initial contracts had been awarded).

 

The link to this document had been provided to 'Happy Contrails' on page 2 of the exhibited links as evidence that the government had agreed that bailiff companies could charge set fees to debtors with unpaid court fines. In 2008 the Ministry of Justice agreed an increase in fees that could be charged and evidence of this was also provided to him.

PS: As mentioned earlier, 'Happy Contrails' had been arguing on this forum since 2009 until he 'left' in 2012 that bailiffs cannot charge fees for enforcing court fines and that warrants were either 'fake' or bogus'. His silly claims even continued on this forum after I had posted a response to a Parliamentary question on this very subject from Lord Lucas in 2009 !!!
