I bought a toilet lever for a fiver

first one broke after six months, got replaced,

this was replaced on the 5.9.13,

now on the 2.9.14 the same thing has happened.

The very rude duty manager said I they cannot help because '' it was bought last year''.

When asked about my statutory rights he still said no.

Please can someone advise me on this before a take it further which I intend on doing.

Many thanks in advance

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

we need to get things in proportion here

this is a bog handle!

as its outside of 6mts purchase

you would need to pay for and supply an independent report

that concludes it was a fault in manufacture

the cost of which would be refunded under a soga claim.

The clock starts when you first bought the item so if the second one is only a few weeks old and replaces one bought more than a year ago that is hard luck. the SoGA would cover you up to mar 2014 with retailer liability, after that you have to go to the manufacturer and prove a latent fault. Without access to a fatigue machine for testing you wont get far. SoGA also takes into account how much things cost so you might want to consider whether it is worth the £1200 I would charge you for doing the testing when you would still get nowt back at the end of the exercise.

Hi tru

Write a Formal Letter of Complaint, mark it as such. Explain what's happened (purchased handle, it broke, it got replaced, that broke. The product is of poor quality), how they have let you down (won't replace) and what you want them to do (replace).

I bet it's not made by Armatidge Shanks.

Send it to:-
