Wonder if anyone can help me with this little problem..sorry problems!

My Step daughter and her husband bought a car last Dec and used Close Motor Finance to pay monthly for the car. The monthly payments are £142, which are on direct debit. Due to work they moved away but didnt change banks so the direct debit was still in place. They informed Close Motor Finance that they had moved. The problem is that Close Motor finance have sent them letters and finding fees which total roughly £800, which they have now put the cost of those onto the original amount they were paying and that works out at an extra £60 on the monthly Direct debit.

I have looked up Direct debit changing and it is all legal but can they add the fees to the Direct debits and if so can they claim them back over any time period they want or should it be spread over the remaining payment time line?

For claiming back these Fees would they go about it in the same way as claimng bank charges?
