aqua credit card - is this fair? - Resolved

On march 11th i got my new statement

Credit Limit £250

 

Balance on March 10 - £245.51

Interest - £ 7.45

 

Total £252.96

Overlimit fee £ 12.00

 

New Total £264.96 minimum payment £21.90 to be paid by March 28

 

On March 28 i paid £22.00 by bank transfer so new balance should be £242.96 Looked online to see if they had the payment and it was credited to my account on the 28th BUT on the 26th they added another £12 overlimit fee so the new balance is £255

 

Can they add a charge twice in a month? Surely charges should only appear on the statement (due April 11) or is this just a case of getting people into a spiralling debt

Write to them, ask for them to be refunded, it does seem unfair regardless of what their T & C's say.

Have just checked my online account and the £12 overlimit fee has been credited to my account so am no longer over the credit limit

 

One thing this has shown me though is that although the credit limit may say £250 in effect it is £240 because interest fees may take you over the limit and bang they got you!

Im sure AQUA card are making amounts up to suit them

 

Last month - balance was £265.95 minimum payment £21.90

This month - balance £250.95 minimum payment due £23.10

 

So balance £15 less but have to pay £2 more in minimum payment
