hi all wonder if can advise,

i had a television delivered friday and

was asked what days would like to pay direct debit,

so said a tuesday.

when was delivered on the friday

i asked if put £15 in meter on friday would that last till next friday

and was told yes by delivery drivers and representative,

well yesterday they came to empty meter (3 days after) and

he informed me that will need to put another £15 in today ,tuesday,

so within 4 days they want me to put £30 in the meter,

yet 2 people have said if put £15 on friday,

should be FREE RUNNING till friday.

can you give an opinion please.

thanks

you can pay by direct debit,

but they says 14 days to setup

so have to put coins in meter till setup,

but by time that setup, i would of paid £45 for 2 weeks

when should only be £15 a week,

so infact if direct debit done on second week

and they take the £15 from bank

also then that would be £60 in 2 weeks,

this cannot be normal practice.

Hi stevie67

Many thanks for taking the time to post today.

We can confirm that this should not be occuring and therefore if you would like to email your account/ address

details to CustomerServicesManagementTeam@bayv.co.uk whom will be able to rectify this for you immediately.

In response to other queries regarding the Direct Debit payment option,

you are required to coin the meter/ make card payments for the weeks up to your first direct debit payment

and from this date onwards the Direct Debit will take over your payments.

There is then no requirement for you to place any money into the meter as you will have free running for that week.

Kind Regards

BAYV Customer Services Management Team.

sending the TV back to BAYV would be a good idea. there are many threads on this site re BAYV and the way they operate.... you can easily make your own opinion of what type of company you are dealing with should you wish to remain one of their customers.

you should be able to send the TV back to BAYV and have a refund on any payment above the weekly hire price which you had use of the goods for. hopefully claim all as a refund as you had been misinformed?

If I've given you advice, then it is just my thoughts / opinions - doesn't mean I am right!

good move!!

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

thanks guys already on it, tv is going back today

,but at a big loss as cost me £50 for 4 days use,

was told will not get refund as was told that any money in meter would not be refunded

as pays for the hire of it,

one big [problem]

and they should be ashamed of themselves and false advertising on adverts.

Hi stevie67

In response to your most recent post, I can confirm that we honour a 30 day cancellation period with a full refund of account payments made however we would not repay a delivery charge as this covers the cost of delivery. This would include all monies inside the meter and any that may have been paid to our Representative who called.

We would again encourage you to send us your details via email so that we may ring you directly.

Kind Regards

hello,

did you receive a full refund from BAYV?

did you receive a refund in respect of the delivery charges?

If I've given you advice, then it is just my thoughts / opinions - doesn't mean I am right!

  • 2 months later...

you were given £15 - so, you were not given a full refund of all the money you paid to them?

in regards to delivery charges, perhaps someone else can clarify that. i do remember that a few years ago a high street chain was found to be operating illegally by not refunding delivery charges.

If I've given you advice, then it is just my thoughts / opinions - doesn't mean I am right!
