No CCA without passport

Hi,

 

I requested a CCA from welcome and sent a £1 postal order, they have sent the postal order back to me with a letter saying they need to see a copy of my passport before they can send me a cca.

 

I am reluctant to do this as not only do I not want them having any more information on me than they already do, but they continue to write to me with spelling mistakes in my name. (they add an extra letter onto the end of my first name)

 

I'm a bit stuck as to what to do now.....

They are talking a load of you know what they would have a lot of problems getting passport out of me including having to pay for me to get one.

But as they have sent the postal order back I feel a bit stuck should I just send it again?

I would just send them the failure to comply letter it is up to them what they do with the £1 fee and see what written diarrhoea they come up with. There is no requirement to prove your identify for the CCA s77/78 request and they are supposed to be sure that you are the correct person when they start chasing you not later.
