Hi,

I am a Barclays additions account holder and I have recently used the online website to make an international payment to a company in Sweden.

Although the website shows me the date I made the transfer, is there any way on the website to determine when the receiving bank actually got the funds in their account?

Thanks

I am not familiar with B/shark online banking.. do they not advise how long international transfers take ! I am not sure whether those would be dealt with on the "faster payment" system or not.

You might have to phone the bank to find out.

Hi Cosmarchy and welcome to CAG

As CitB says, you should check with the bank on their website or by phone to see what proof you can have that payment was made, and when.

International payments will always take longer to process and, if the transaction fails for any reason, it'll take longer for the payment to be returned to you.

Check you onl;ine banking daily to see if the transaction appears.

Swedish Kronor transfers fall under the same SEPA rules that apply to Euro transfers, so your payment should be received in about two days. If the recipient is contesting this then I suggest you go to a Barclays branch and ask for a receipt showing the amount, SWIFT code, IBAN and fees (always with the sender under SEPA).

By default, neither sender nor receiver receives an explicit notification, and you don't get a confirmation of receipt either. However the IBAN is coded in such a way that typos should be detected.

The Faster Payments system is for UK Sterling transfers only.
