I got a Notice of Default letter from Virgin Media saying that I owe them £0

Even though I actually owe them about £15 does the fact the letter says I owe £0 mean that they have mucked up and I therefore now owe them nothing.

I will upload a copy of the letter when I am at work tomorrow.

Here is the default letter, I know its dated 3rd April. I have been just ignoring it till now as like it says I owe £0. It was only the fact they referred it on to a DCA that I remembered the weird default letter.

Like I said in the OP because the letter says I owe £0 does that actually mean due to a muck up by Virgin I don't have to pay anything

Well the DN is defective anyway and isn't worth the paper it's written on.

You do realise that you have left identifiers on that scan?

If some tin pot DCA tries it on just laugh at them and ignore them.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

Hmm, very odd indeed. They quite clearly state that you don't owe them anything and that the breach has created no arrears

However that Default is invalid anyway.. they are asking for you to remedy this breach "within 14 days". It is a statutory requirement that they state a DATE which must also allow for posting.. (2 business days - 1st class : 4 business days - 2nd class) Business days are Monday to Friday excluding weekends and bank holidays.

TBH, I am not quite sure whether you should respond to this or not. ! I will flag for others on the site team.

Complain to their Data Controller and check your credit reference files in case a default entry has been placed.

Even though I do prob owe them money, does the fact that they sent a bodged notice of default negate all that?

It has been suggested that you simply telephone and ask if it is legitimate.

I've just checked my CRA (I used Equifax, don't know how reliable or upto date they are) and it just said in arrears, there was no default put on there

Equifax is usually well up to date.

Are the arrears shown ie how many months.

OK a letter to their Data Controller, with a copy of the DN and a printout of the CRA file.

I have a suspicion that the may be selling that silly balance but have got ahead of themselves.
