same advice as for RLP. It is just another letter from a company that is paid to send out letters. If you get a leaflet offering to install double glazing for you do you feel obliged to buy their glazing just because they sent you a leaflet? I doubt it so the advice is the same-dont give them any money.

I would agree with the previous posters to ignore. This 'pet' debt collector can do nothing.

If you wanted to, you could write a formal complaint to BPO complaining that they as a debt collector should not be attempting collection where a debt does not exist and call into doubt their fitness to hold a credit licence.

This is not a debt, just an unenforceable invoice. You are getting closer to the end now as there will be nothing much to send. They may send you a letter from a tame solicitor but again, they can do nothing.

Don't you think, if the retailer wanted their pound of flesh they would have done it by now??

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor

set your default scan page size to A4 less than 300DPI [150 will do]

scan the required letters/agreements/sheets - as a picture[jpg] file

don't forget you can use a mobile phone or a digital camera too!!

'

BUT......

ENSURE: remove all pers info inc. barcodes etc

but leave all monetary figures and dates.

DO IT IN MSPAINT.EXE or any photo editing program

goto one of the many free online pdf converter websites ...

http://freejpgtopdf.com/

..

if you have multiple scans/pics

put them in a word doc FIRST and convert that to PDF

or http://www.freepdfconvert.com/

or

use www.pdfmerge.com

convert existing PC files to PDF [office has an installable print to PDF option]

..

it would be better to upload a multipage pdf if

you have many images too rather than many single pdfs

.

or if you have PDF as an installed printer drive use that

or use word and save as pdf

try and logically name your file so people know what it is.

though dont use full bank names or CAG in the title

i'e Default notice DD-mm-yyyy TSB

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

You need to upload it as a PDF jpeg is too small.

If this is RLP (Retail Loss Prevention) and they are attempting to extort money out of you then you can ignore them.

Were the police called?

Where you charged?

Tell us the story please..

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

Significant disruption !, Substantial amount of time !, Significant Expenditure !. Considerable Loss !.

All exaggerations to put it mildly.

I also note that RLP appear to be wanting to claim a contribution to the security costs

incurred in other cases of shoplifting with the comment "..due to your action..and the actions of others".

I wonder if Jackie no doubt reading this would like to supply the legal basis for this ?

and also the claim that the law makes no difference between profit generating and security personel,

I would argue that the Oxford made precisely that interpretation.

The wording is laughable when RLP again imply that they are not only seeking damages for loss

but somehow seeking to punish the alleged offender so they don't do it again.

EErr..hello Jackie, this is the job of the courts NOT RLP,

you are not involved in any sort of Restorative Justice scheme

however much you like to believe you are.

Now we can't see the top of the letter,

whether it is marked Without Prejudice or not,

but such dumb comments would surely go against RLP in the very unlikely event this every went to court

and could be pointed out that RLP/The Store is not only interested in recovering any loss,

but is seeking to 'punish' the individual concerned.

No-one is 'required' to respond to any Pre-Action Protocol as the letter claims

and given the lack of cases pursued by RLP and the stores they represent,

most would suggest that as they have no legal basis then it would simply be a waste of time.

The protocols are designed for parties to try a settle a genuine dispute before legal action,

NOT to intimidate individuals with no legal knowledge into paying amounts they simply don't owe.
