i have had a similar issue/problem with payday express and had the exact same card thro the post and rang them frantic as i had also been emailing them trying to set up a payment plan as i lost my bank card. i eventually mangead to set up a plan and missed one payment and they then took money from my b/a with out my knowledge and i ahd to ring again and ive now realised that they've "handed" my debt to castlebridge credit management which i didn't realise as the number i rang given on the card is the same on ccm's useless website, so i now have no idea wots happening only that i've paid nearly £300 on a £180 debt. will deffo do some digging and ring again to try and get some answers as accordding to my bank statements its still going to payday express and not to ccm. i reccomend you check ur bank statements.

Hi chants89

Castlebridge of Nottingham and Payday Express of Bromley are reputedly the same with CBM being inhouse collectors for PDE and a couple others..., I know in their letters that do say miss even 1 payment it reverts back they then reserve the right to collect full amount

I'd definately query the amount with PDE if you feel you have overpaid, with a view to taking further

I have their bank details if you need but doesn't sound like you do - hope this is end of it?

Happy to share my experience but for your own protection, please check and double check what myself and other Caggers inform

Just thought I would post to inform you that Payday Express can and do mark defaults on credit files. I have just had a default registered on my credit file by them dated from when I set up a payment plan with them last year. I am just in the process of contacting them to tell them they can either remove the default in full as part of a full and final settlement or my payment plan will now consist of them getting £1 a month off me for the next 15 years.

As you can see I am getting just slightly annoyed with these companies thinking they can destroy peoples lives for 6 years for low sums of money.

Thanks for the heads up! last week Payday Express recorded 4 times on my report for previous loans (I have no illusions I reckon their having to build up to my current default as I'm now on a plan to) so maybe their really, really slow to report to the CRA's or whoever it is? and we're just unlucky that Payday Express do this they probably like to deem it as 'their responsible lending' keep your chin up and make any full and final settlement offer work for you on your terms! Make sure you get it in writing to.

Paydaypayback

I also had a default added on my credit file, but the interesting thing is that they never bothered advising me that I owed an outstanding balance. I rang them last year and they said that I didn't owe anything.

I spoke to Experian who advised me that they sent the information through in October, so they are a slimey bunch.

Update - I contacted Payday Express and explained that as I had a payment plan in place with them which has never been a minute late in payment and with only 6 payments left I thought (and have also been told) that I would not be defaulted on my account with them. This default was placed on my credit file a week or so ago dated last year!!! I told the rep in no uncertain terms that unless the default was removed they would be getting £1 a month off me for as long as it takes to clear the account (about 15 years I think it works out at) and no more. I said as I have been defaulted there is now no incentive for me to keep making agreed payments on it as I am only paying back charges they added now anyway. The rep started stuttering on the phone saying you cant do that - my answer - oh and why not, you going to default me are you? lol.

The rep stated that court action was an option to which I replied crack on Ill see you there and then they started that they would start adding interest etc again. Can interest and charges be added to a defaulted account? I guess they can but again Ill get them to justify their ridiculous charges in court when they take me there.

Hi,I, like many others, fell into the trap of payday loans.I defaulted on a microcredit loan early last year and am looking for advice on how to deal with it.I have a default on my credit file for £440 with microcredit. The opening balance was only £100 though.I have read somewhere that all you need to do is pay the loan plus one months interest.Do I have any chance in getting this removed? If so how?I am in a position to pay off the balance (intiial loan + interest) in one lump sumAnyone had experience of attempting this?

Id say pay the amount you said then let them try and justify anything else. You could write to them and say that it is an offer for full and final settlement providing that they remove the default. Make sure you get the response in writing.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

Is there a template letter for full and final settlements? Also, the debt my have been sold on. The default on the credit file is by them though.... Do I send the full and final to them, or should I find out if it has been sold on first?Im thinking that opus have bought it... anyone heard of them?

If you think the debt was sold on, then they MUST inform you beforehand. If they dont, then they have breached debt collection guidelines. You can always issue a SAR to them and ask for every single piece of information they have about you.

Edit. It hasnt been sold on. Minicredit and Opus are the same company, same management, same staff. They just use different addresses that go to a mail redirection service.

Never call them on the phone. also be prepared for a long drawn out affair just to get a repayment plan set up.

they must have improved lately, they offered me a plan straight away, although it has rolled over a few times and I have had 7 other loans previously with them, all paid off ok. I explained my situation and that due to the rollovers and my situation, they should freeze interest etc, n they have done, have to admit, gobsmacked

If you want to send them income and expenditure details (if you think it may help in coming to a payment arrangement) send them only basic information, your incomings and your outgoings only.

Hi,

I defaulted on 3 lending stream payday loans well over a year ago.

I have had no contact since.

I checked my credit file this Christmas expecting to see 3 defaults from them. Instead I have a continuous red late payment marker for each month for the past year and a half.

Any advice on what to do next as if I leave it these could be on my file for potentially the rest of my life!

Thanks

Has anyone been able to get a hold of them? Their info email no longer works and I just get no reply from their payment email (I think it is). they say I owe them £84 but I feel I only owe £34 which is a default fee and late fees, the rest is interest and I've paid the loan & interest back already. I've been trying to get them to agree for months but nothing just saying I owe £84. I had AA in July but BB since and the latest is 6 BB.

  • 1 month later...

Hi,

I fell into the payday trap 2 or so years ago. I cancelled card etc to get out of the 'loop'.

Anyway, a year and a half has gone by now and I want to get to grips with the whole situation.

I have the following.....

Quickquid default on credit file for £612 (Though it is under the name of Mackenzie Hall)

Im sure this loan was only for £300 though. I never recieved a default notice giving me 14 days to pay.

Micro credit default on credit file for £400. Though I think the original loan was only £150. Again no default notice sent through post.

Lending stream X 3. These have been marked as '6' with a BB underneath for the last 18 months or so.

Amounts owing on these 3 are £600, £400 and £300 approx.

So what is the best step forward from here?

I could ignore, and wait 4 years till the defaults drop off. (though the lending stream debts will carry on being a 6 forever?)

Or should I start paying back... if so how?

Ideally I would like the entries removed from my credit file entirely. Is that an option at all?

Any advice greatly recieved
