Before you put the new battery in, I'd restore the phone to factory defaults, just in case. Then with the software provided perform a full system upgrade.

Make sure you charge the battery overnight with phone switched off before using it the first time.

Any further issues, get Lee the voda rep to look into this for you

Hi CAG members,

We thought it would be nice to introduce ourselves and to assure you all that our presence on CAG is with the very best of intentions.

vodafone UK has recently introduced a dedicated Web Relations Team which is keen to seek out customers who’re having difficulties with their accounts and feel that they have no other place to turn to than CAG and other consumer forums and blogs.

Naturally, it’s not possible for us to help directly with account specific queries on CAG and as such we would encourage those members who feel we can help them to contact us privately at eforum.web@help.vodafone.co.uk (no spaces) quoting ‘WRT135 – CAG Forum’ in the subject line to ensure that it reaches the Web Relations Team.

When emailing us we would also ask that you either provide us with a link to your post or thread – if you’ve posted in another member’s thread please also provide your CAG username so that we can check what your query is.

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)

Or send a cheque or postal order payable to Reclaim the Right Ltd.

to

923 Finchley Road London NW11 7PE

Click here if you fancy an email address that shows you mean business! (only £6 and that will really help CAG)

If you can't donate, please use the Internet Search boxes on the CAG pages - these will generate a small but regular income for the site

Would any of these batteries work:

Huawei is not a popular brand but it's a popular manufacturer. They make phones (and just a bit of everything) for other brands.

YET. They are very much up and comming, and have some higher end smartphones in development.

Personally, I would not fork out any dosh, SOGA is your friend. I would seriously expect Lee to resolve this ASAP.

Went into Vodafone earlier. Because I can't find my receipt, (I know the exact date it was purchased - June 13th 2012) they can't send it off for a repair or a test. I was told I could buy a battery just in case that's the issue. But that doesn't explain why my phone doesn't always respond.

He did say that because it's a smartphone, the battery won't last that long. My dad has a smartphone and got his in December 2011 and still has a working battery. I would expect my battery to function properly for more than 8 months.

Nystagmite, did you follow the instructions given by locutus in post # 8 ?

I doubt the vodafone rep will be able to do anything over the weekend, as I think he only has a presence Monday to Friday on the CAG forums - however, he has a great success in resolving CAG member issues, so give it a try.

Obviously the sales reps have no clue of what or why or when. All they care is their commissions. It is likely that your battery needs recalibration. Changing the battery would be ideal but a full charge, a full discharge and another full charge might solve the problem.

Hi Nystagmite,

It's a shame to hear about your experience here but thanks for making me aware of it.

As suggested by locutus and citizenB could you email me with your details via the Contact us form here and quote the code WRT135 - CAG Forum in the subject line?

Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. To ensure that it reaches me could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

Kind regards,

Lee

Hi lee,

contacted the web team twice and am still getting nowhere. Their arguments seem to be "you need your receipt" and "it's a wear and tear issue" - it's not.

The customer service from them has generally been quite poor over this. I am only asking for my phone to be looked at and sorted out.

When you contacted the web team on the link given earlier in this thread, did you receive an email with a reference number ? If so, then please post that ref number on this thread and Lee will look into your complaint for you.
