A toe-rag smashed my car windscreen last night, leaving the vehicle undrivable.

Not only will I lose a day's pay getting it fixed, but my insurance is charging me my full excess to process the repair.

Why should I have to pay after falling victim to crime? (I have a crime number etc).

Totally, totally unfair!

Yes - it is unfair. I suppose that it may impact your no claims as well.

I take it you have no idea/proof of who broke it.

If your car was on your own land you might be ale to claim under household insurance, on the road however it's just another statistic.

Any chance of CCTV footage if it was on a main road ?
