What do you think about Nadine Dorries in the jungle?

This embrace of TV exposure is raising a lot of interest, more negative at the moment but I wonder if this will change in time. We shall see.......

I can see the point of it making her seem more human and approachable, but she's been elected to represent her constituents and paid a lot to do it. She can't do it from 12,000 miles away.

Hi Caro, It's a possibility there will be a message to convey but this will all depend on how her personality comes across to the viewers. Another point is this programme has it's own captive audience which reaches further than what is claimed 'the suits'. It can be considered a clever way of reaching out to a wider audience than politics usually does. Could mean more of the much younger generation engaging in the political agenda.

Obviously engaging the younger generation is good, but what if there are serious issues at home needing attending to. Let's not forget George Galloway has already tried reality TV and he didn't exactly give a good impression.

Maybe after 'milkgate' there was a back lash towards her from within which has had a part to play in her decision to do this.

 

It could be she is saying, I'll show you how to connect with the people.

There's speculation she may move to UKIP. Shame for her it wasn't in the recess when MP's on hols. I think the programme is on for about four weeks and I believe there are MP's all over the country who are away from their constituencies a lot longer because they have other jobs. It was mentioned tonight ND has an attendance record of 70% in Parliament, much higher than some high profile MP's.

I don't disagree. Being an mp should be a full time job. The wages justify this and they should be committed to the task if they put themselves forward and want our precious votes.

She is being paid her mp salary and can have her holidays when parliament isn't sitting or at least a shorter holiday.
