Just doing my morning news reading and came across an article on the BBC news website and in the Guardian saying Comet are close to appointing an administrator, possibly today. Its shame for the 6000 that might lose their jobs.

After the contempt they showed me as a customer this news is not surprising.

Comet said it was "urgently working" on plans to secure the company's future. Customers with outstanding orders are being told it is "business as usual until further notice" and that the group intends to fulfil deliveries of products that have been paid for.

Comet's customer care team is handling customer inquiries on 0844 8009595.

I bet they are.

Hey guys,

Just heard the news, I've got credit with them worth £700 for my replacement tv, There insurance line is down, is that my money gone then? any advise?

I’ve just read that stores are accepting Comet gift cards and vouchers for now. I would get them spent asap and collect whatever you buy from the store. Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-20164228

Probably will follow the same course as the JJB collapse with trading continuing until stocks are gone in the individual stores with a few of the larger ones being kept open for longer.

I think most of Comets stores are rented so the administrators will probably be keen to get them emptied and the agreements with landlords terminated.

Since their credit lines were withdrawn and they had to pay upfront for much of their current stock once its gone that will be it.

Just found out today my mother in law ordered a cooker from Comet at the end of October. It was due to be delivered on Saturday they have confirmed the delivery wont be made. Looks like she may have lost £500 as she paid cash.

The only slight saving grace is she paid for the fitting fee of £80 on her debit card.

Is there not some way of charging back on your card if you pay a small amount on it?

Don't rely on what the bank tells you, check it out yourself!

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)

Or send a cheque or postal order payable to Reclaim the Right Ltd.
