Hi,

I've received a letter from Mint today with the return of my SAR letter and the cheque. They say they cannot trace me despite their efforts so I will need to provide them with an account number and date account closed/opened. They also say they do not hold information longer than six years.

It was probably just over 6 years ago because I took out a secured loan to pay all my cards off and that was in June 2006.

Is there anything else I can do or is it best to give up. I have no statements or account details now so I can't provide them with anymore info than I already have.

Thanks

When you took out the secured loan - did they send cheques to your creditors or did you? If the new lender did, then it is possible that you gave them the account numbers of those items you wanted paying. See if you can find the information from that source.

They have to hold data for 6 years after the account is closed,

so they may well have destroyed it.

I take it you have none of the original docs?

Was the loan paid direct to the card issuers or

did you pay each one your self?

Historic bank statements might help.

often bank statements quote A/C numbers on the record of the DD payment each month

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

woohoo! Guess what! I found my account number on a standing order payment I made to them on 17/6/2006. How bloody close is that! I did send my SAR on 13/06/2012 so was within 6 years, I can't belevie my credit card number is actually there too! Thank goodness for standing orders!

I'll send my letter back with account number and I.D so as not to delay things as they said they may require this.

Thanks everyone x
