I am looking for a solicitor who specialise in credit consumer act and the ICO guidelines. Must have experience in application of default notices and credit reference agency. I would prefer someone in London, Watford or surrounding areas.

Thanks

Hi mad

Don't just go with the first one you find, do a bit of reseach on them, make sure they can do the job you want them to do.

ICO guiidelines aren't backed up by the law. Ask your MP to rectify this. Too many people ignore the guidelines.

Good ideas need to be supported by legislation. ICO is a red herring. Keep your eye on the law.

Credit consumer act also needs strengthening.

Currently it is too ambiguous in favour of malicious creditors that are able to corrupt the judiciary.

Hopefully your MP will help (if they're not in on it!)

Good luck.

I hope the wind will blow the right way for you.

Surely if you go to court a judge has to take note of any guidelines that have been issued?? otherwise what is the point in these guidelines??

Nope.

That's what I thought too.

I learned the hard way.

Judges can only use the law (but they can pretty much interpret it any way they want)

Not much point in guidelines if folk ignore them. (Which is exactly what's happening)

This concerns me, I'm currently threatening experian for failing to follow guidelines issued from the ico... Although my data wasn't accurate so effectively breaks the data protection act anyway... I've been qouting your case to all my creditors up to now with regards to the damage to my creditworthiness
