help with wonga plesae

hi all

myi girlfriend is having a problem with wonga i wondered if anyone can help she had a loan with them which was due to come out today that she would have to pay 1400 due to havimg some time on the sick her wages was not enough to cover it so she rang them yesterday to she if she could set up a payment plan and was told they couldnt do nothing until the due date so they said ring back in the morning which she did at 6.45 this morning and they set up a payment plan all they said was it will be 72.99 a month which i thought was very low for the amount she owed when on the phone to them they didnt say how many months the repayment plan was over or how much she owed them then she checked her bank account and they had taken almost every penny out of her bank about 1000 pounds are they allowed to do this is there anything we can do.

If they had taken the money before the arrangement was set up im afraid there may not be much you can do.

 

You could try your bank for a chargeback but they took the money on the due date as per her credit agreement so they will agrue they havnt done anything wrong.

 

The problem is these companies refusal to set up payment plans until the account has defaulted, its just an excuse to add charges and do exactly this, would suggest you report this to the OFT, they wont be able to get your money back but may be able to stop them doing this in the future.
