hi silverfox & dx.

while out today,( my husband was being watched by daughter at home),

he was given the post by the postman,

in amongst the mail was a letter addressed to him in plain white envolope.

it was from the brilliant gift shop,

suffice to say i was met by an irrate daughter,

and a very disturbed upset husband,

he is not talking and i am at my wits end.

i wrote to this company and jd williams just over a week ago

,as you know with the letters saying collections where ceased,

and the solicitor agreeing to talk to me, not my husband.

i am still waiting to hear from trading standards,

but i think i will have to take it further.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

regards.

pt

Sorry, I don't quite follow. What terms were they asking you to accept?

Hi Silverfox. After Receiving A Duplicate CCA, I Wanted to Pay At A Reduced Rate But They Refused, I Offered Them £2.00 On The Accounts,

But They Refused And Started The Letter, Phone Calls, Visit Letters, There Solicitor Started The Scare Tactics, It Ended Up In a Complete Mess.

There Last Response Was The 8 Week To Start Paying In Full. So I Gave Them 10 Days To Comply With My Requests, ( CCA & Lower Payments.)

That Was On The 3rd July Last Year. regards. pt

With the CCA, they have complied in accordance with the CCA 1974. What they have sent may not be enough for enforcement action but that's a long way off.

The fact of the matter is that they are not dealing with you as they should be and as they agreed to do.

If you want to pay them £2 per account that's fine. What can they do-nothing (apart from take you to court and they won't do that as you will be paying)

What does concern me is that as they refused to accept reduced payments, they are going against the OFTs Debt Collection Guidance and they will no doubt be adding stupid charges on the accounts (which can all be reclaimed)

Have you had any response to the email. If not, follow up with a letter.

Heading every letter either Formal Complaint or addendum to Formal complaint will help.

hi silverfox.

received a nice,

lol letter from glenn taylor JD Williams & Co. (Reliable Collections.?) opologising for the administrative oversight.

in light of our previous agreement, as of 14th july 2010 we can confirm that all collections activity on the above accounts will now cease.

we trust this closes the matter, with regards to these account.

i thought they would have taken a bit longer, Mr Glenn Taylor. Account Management Team.

has given his/accounts Direct Line. 0161 386 2226 .

this could be handy to others i think.

well thanks guys for all you did in helping me with this matter.

i will now be able to take them on about my accounts, i will continue to pay £2.00 til they start sending there extremely funny letters. regards. pt.

  • 4 weeks later...

hi silverfox.& dx. Thank you for your help in the matter concerning my husband.

i have six accounts with the same companies, (reliable collections.). I was in dispute with all six of them over different things. ( no cca, charges and interest.)

the outcome was i received a letter from reliable giving me 8 weeks to sort out the problems, i had with them.

i considered that i had tried and exhausted all my options, so i replied giving them 10 days to respond to my request's.

that was on the 01/05/2010,

i heard nothing until the 26/01/2012, not from reliable but one of the catalogues,

i have a second letter off them now, which has 2x£12,

Admin fees, and a credit charge of £4.39.

where do i stand on this legally.

regards pt

.

unless you have ALL the statements

i would now SAR JDW [iGNORE RelCol]

then get reclaiming

i bet 50% of each of the accounts are masses of £12 unlwaful PENALTY fees

All these can be reclaimed PLUS the intererst they have attributed.

saying i would give them 10 days to supply me with my request. so i have complied with there request, but they didnt contact me until 26th january 2012. well out of my time scale.

No doubt they will contcat you again demanding this, that and the other but until they comply with your request(s) they can go swivel (or something else less polite)
