mid-claim with LloydsTSB

Greetings all

 

I've successfully reclaimed money from Natwest already, but am now helping my other half with her and our accounts. Two of the charges are for a joint account we share, the others are her own current account. Total is just over £400.

 

They have responded to her/our first letter (pretty much the standard one from here!) with a 'final position' letter refusing to pay up, and giving info about the Financial Ombudsman. Should I now go straight to the small claims court? I'm going to be online for a bit checking the info here on the site, hoping to find out. I must be honest, I didn't expect them to give a flat 'no' - random waffling and delays seemed more likely!

Hi there,

 

I am in mid flow with Barclays Bank. They have very kindly sent all of my statements, and I sent a breakdown totally around £ 5000.00 of charges. Giving the initial 14 days. They requested that I waited until the 24th of September for their reply. That is 10 days longer. If I do not receive my reply by today I will issue the second 14 day letter, informing them that they have already had 10 days of this !!!!

 

I am then prepared to take them to the small claims court, although a little scary.

 

Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to handle them ?

Hi could anyone please help direct me to were i can find the letters which i can send to my bank? ive had horrendous bank charges for going over my overdraft by £1 its about we fight back were being [edit] blind!

There's another forum, the Library. There's all the info you need there. I think the one to start with is an 'initial request for repayment', or something like that. But have the next few ready to go; my bank told me to get lost within the fortnight!

Same sort of thing here wrote to TSB claiming just over £1000 back but got some rambling reply, basically saying no. I've wrote again to say I will be taking further action and after 3 weeks they've not bothered to reply.. Anyone know the best way to take it to court is it expensive?

Yes you should send your Letter Before Action then start court proceedings, Start a new thread in the Lloyds TSB Forum and keep people updated with your claims.
