My post office credit card debt has been passed to a DCA called DLC. I have not received a monthly statement since February 2011, I am making payments to DLC under an arrangement. Should I still receive my monthly statement showing the payments I am making?

Yes.

Write to them asking for statements to date.

Meanwhile, do make sure you keep a record of payments made. How are you paying them?

Thats good you have a record of payments made :)

They might say they only have to give you a statement of account every so often. If so you want to know how regularly they will provide them.

A short letter something along the lines of..

Dear Sirs,

Any references.

I have an agreed repayment plan for the above account since DATE.

I note that no statements have been sent to me and believe I am entitled to receive these in line with OFT guidelines.

I look forward to hearing from you along with a statement of account to date.

Yours faithfully.

  • 3 weeks later...

Had a phone call from DLC they stated that they only send out statements once a year, I explained as I was being reviewed on a 6 monthly basis that was no good to me, I needed and wanted monthly statements. I also stated that DLC put this in writing to me. Answer "I will have to speak to my supervisor", end of telephone call. Can I demand a monthly statement? I have never known this before.

I am not sure whether there are any guidelines/regulations regarding this, I will try to find out for you. However, my OH is on repayment plans with CL finance and Tesco and receives monthly statements from both of them.

It is my belief that you ARE entitled to statements on a monthly basis. Are DLC acting as collection agents for the original creditor or has this account been assigned to them ?

I will try and find out if there is anything you can quote back at them.

very interesting ive been paying debt managers for 3 yrs by s/o and have never receive a thing since i started paying think its time to drop them a line was gona cca them anyway

i would be inclined to CCA these people them

who says you owe them money

never ever believe what a DCA says!!

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
