Hi

Im new to this forum but thought it would be worth posting a thread about my problem for some advice. I recently bought a packet of Nestle 'Lion pop choc's from a local branch of pound land. When I was eating one of the 'chocs' or rather ball I realised there was a piece of wood stuck in the chocolate. The chocolate balls are about 1.5cm in diameter but this bit of wood was about 7mmx3mm. I have already contacted their customer services and sent the item for them to investigate but what should I expect out of this, and how far if I am not satisfied by the response can I potentially take this?

any advice would be appreciated

Cheers

Hi nokl

Welcome to CAG

The guys will be happy to advise as soon as they are available.

You should have contacted Trading Standards, given the product to Trading Standards as this is a Health and Safety issue. Also taken pictures.

The company will probably offer some form of compensation. They will investigate the matter but play it down.

I doubt that anything of use or interest will come of complaining to a central office.

The thing to do is have a word with the local manager, on the assumption that the offending item might be a part of a bad batch, and he would rather not be selling sweets you could break a tooth on.

You could also report the concern to Trading Standards but the same applies: I doubt that anything of use or interest would come of it.
