Hi everyone, about 10 mins ago I cancelled a call to the financial ombudsman after being on hold for so long. I dived on the laptop for advice and found this site and hope someone can point me in the right direction.

I have a secured loan on my property for 10k, which helped me start a small business about 4 years ago. I'll be the first to admit I was never great with paying certain things on time but have really cleaned up my act over the past 12 months, improving my credit rating etc. I have been trying to work with acenden for months and months to clear my arrears or reduce them, it was never a great amount about £600 in actual arrears, but every month it kept growing and growing even when I was paying towards them. My current monthly loan payment is Just over £94 but I am still being charged £115 a month plus a debt councillor fee that I refused. My arrears now stand at about £2000 at least 60% of which are charges!!

I have complained to them and have recently had my reply which basically says "tough" in a round about kind of way, but I seriously couldn't believe they could get away with charging me more a month in a single fee than my loan payment itself!??

Any advice on this would be most helpful

Thanks,

Grant

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi dx,

How do I start the ball rolling? Is it a case of getting the amount and writing a demand for them back?

PS whats a MIF? (newbie remember lol)

hold on the SAR

then find it in the library top left green tab

OC is original creditor.

you need to do some reading up first.

use the advanced search top right.
