So they do exist! That person was wrong claiming they no longer held them. Why is it so hard to get accurate facts here? thanks for the reply but i suffer from anxiety and stress. Groups are not happening for me. If the JC can't respcet that then they can explain it to my GP. I'm not putting up with being bullied.

Nobody said they no longer held them. What was said was that they are becoming obsolete from Monday. Future tense.

Nystaagmite said he'd been to them before. Past tense.

  • 2 weeks later...

Attended the interview today. Was 'compelled' to agree to see the Disability Adviser and given a job to apply for that it turns out I can't do (the advert was poorly written and the company's own website says i need epxerience I don't have for a job type I had to choose to fill out the 3 i have to pick). As it turns out i don't have to sign on because the 29th is a bank holiday due to the wedding. I wasn't sure this was the case. Unfortunately however I felt I had to agree to see the Disability Adviser. I didn't want to do this, but what can you say during these interviews? You have to participate. So now I have to sit and wait for a phone call that could happen anytime (even as I type this). This is exactly the sort of thing that exacerbates my anxiety problems. I don't want this appointment and I only agreed because I was told that the DA might be able to take over my regular signing and do it that way. What I don't want is for her to ring up and drag me in (threatening sanctions of course if i don't comply) any old time. I really need this next 4 weeks to be Jobcentre free, I'm sure people won't understand this, but I could use a break from having to worry about what's going to happen if I don't do what they want. I don't think there was any formality to this, it was suggested that seeing this person would be a 'good idea' so no official Jobseeker Direction aspect to it. But you can never tell with these people, that's the problem. It's that uncertainty that's the problem and I really don't want an argument with someone over the phone because they won't let me do things my way (which isn't the same as completely refusing to participate either). Now I have to stress out waiting for a phone call that could happen anytime! I know this isn't as important as some people's issues but i'd like to know what options I have. Can i refuse this? Can I insist on doing things by my terms or what?

Appointment hasn't been made yet, I have to wait for a phoine call to do that - which is exactly the sort of situation that really triggers my anxiety, waiting for phone calls etc. Could happen today, monday, 1st of May, who knows? I also got the impressioon that it won't look good if I choose to decline when I do get the call. I don't mind if she takes over signing me on and thus I have a more focussed session, but a) I want to enjoy the next 4 weeks at least without having to worry about the bloody jobcentre's demands (i have been excused from signing on the day of the wedding after all - why not enjoy the holidays we have coming!) and b) I don't want to have to go there beyond my signing time. I'm fine with doing the jobsearch etc.

You have to remember these people are not interested in you or your welfare, there only concern is to hit you with a sanction, just tell them what they want to hear, show them what they want to see, tell them a bunch of crap, and don't believe a word they say. they are the most sly, sneaky, scumbags you are ever likely to come face to face with, You don't want to go there unless you really have to, it's only a matter of time before some one visits with a firearm.

would be referred to an outside provider to help with more intensive jobsearching (athough please excuse me if I laugh out loud as they are as much use as a chocolate fireguard according to reports back from customers0.

any complaints can and does result in a sanction and often branded "anti",the reality its the truth.these contracts are worth millions of pounds to private companies they are certainly looking after their pockets at the expense of the taxpayer, yet consecutive governments have continued to plough into these despite there failures with the same people and organisations at the helm.

the accusations against these programs are substantial as are the allegations of wrong doing,as with the whistleblower scandal its only a matter of time before the next one emerges.

if people have no confidence in these organisations then there is in reality little point in continuing down that road as the end results will determine the same, the lack of opportunities/vacancies in the job market is the real reason for such a decline.

Right, but this isn't answering my question. And right now I'm reaching critical mass in terms of stress dealing with these peopel - and i'm one of the lucky ones given some of the experiences mentioned on forums like this!

everything is a standard procedure, what happens once a certain date is reached a flag appears on the system and an appointment is booked to see an adviser, this usually involves looking through what you have previously taken in and shown as evidence when signing, and the jobseekers agreement reviewed to see if any changes are made.as the claim progresses the reviews vary and could involve being placed with an outside group such as A4e.

since my disability came to light much as nystagmite is saying there are different events for disabled people that are not so stringent (in some cases) and i have noticed that these advisor appointments don't seem to happen now with the people i once seen.evidence still needs to be seen when signing like everyone.

Sorry, I mean the question regarding me agreeing (i wish I hadn't but you have to play the game) to see the Disability Adviser. I now have to wait for her to call and I really don't want to deal with another of these bloody people compelling me to attend. My next signing date, thanks to the bank holiday, is May the 13th and I REALLY don't want to be dragged in before then.
