My abbey mole tells me that Abbey have now a new policy with new starts that they must open an abbey account.

Also know of an employee of Shabby who upon being quite seriously ill appllied for their sickness insurance to pay their halve of the marital bills only to be told that only their partner was covered, even though the ill partner was arranged the insurance etc. They were told this is what they had signed for ( it was a error which worked out in the shabbys favour). This was even after discussions with abbey staff about ensuring each partner would br covered for their share of the bills.

If Abbey treat their staff like this what hope is there for ethical treatment of their customers

Nothing any bank does surprises me. All they are interested in is huge bonuses for senior management and dividends for shareholders.

It almost makes me feel like singing the 'Red Flag'

The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread.
