desk top icons

have installed microsoft security and now none of the desk top icons are working,is there a simple solution?

well its nowt to do with MSE.

 

have you cold booted the pc?

 

what do you get when you click on one?

just highlights it,but only opens if i right click and click open,

try:

 

1) In Windows Explorer, select Tools->Folder Options.

 

2) Click the File Types tab.

 

3) Click the file type Folder (not to be confused with File Folder), then the Advanced button.

 

4) In the Edit File Type dialog box, select open, then click Set Default

 

5) Click Okay for each dialog box.

i`m running windows 7 and under tools there is nofolder option

no message,just highlights it,then i have to right click and then click open,easy enough to do,just bugs me that i cant figure out why i cant just click and open like i`m used to doing

right if i go into documents and click organise theres a link there called folder and search options,is that what i`m looking for
