I got my statement from MBA today and the due date for payment is once again a Sunday..each month they do this, it gives me 6 working days to move money around and send a cheque to arrive before the date due.

Needless to say each month the payment isn't processed until the Monday after the due date and I get charged £12. Also I notice the payments they are demanding each month are not those I agreed to when I took the card with BoS/RBS I can't remember which of them it was at the time but it was some 18-20 years ago. At that time I was expected to pay a minimum amount of £5/£10 or a percentage of the oustanding balance which ever was the greatest, I am now getting hit for £150 per month on a debt of approx £4k and notice they add the £12 each month to the outstanding balance and charge interest on that.

Having read some of the posts on cag I would like to see what they have been charging over the years but, I just don't know where to start or what I would be looking for..any advice would be appreciated

Hi,

To find out what theyve been charging send a subject access request. Make sure to send recorded with a cheque for £10. Once youve got all your statements we can talk you through getting all those charges refunded ;)

I have no legal qualifications whatsoever, so please check any input I have for accuracy. And please correct me if you disagree!

Statute of limitations says you can only claim back 6 years worth unfortunately. There was some talk of being able to go back further but I havent seen anything definite on that.

Also check out your credit file - every one of these late payments might be recorded.
