i was just wondering ...

if all current account customers of halifax are getting 5 pounds a month

dont u think they should give the people who ever bank with them the 5 pounds a month (depending on how much goes in there account that is )

i mean i have been with them for a good couple of yrs and i have over 1000 going in a month , yet it only seems to apply to current account holders , why not holders who have visa electrons and stuff , i mean there moneys just as good as a current account holders money ,

anyone else with me :) on this one

and b4 anyone asks lol i ave tried upgrading my account to a current and got turned down flat lol

What is your Account called?

Accounts are usually Current Account or Savings Account

Visa Electrons are usually issued on a Basic Account which is a type of Current Account but without a Chequebook and a normal Visa Debit Card or Maestro.

The £5 a month is only issued on the Reward current account... and you need to apply for it, yes... This means that all your DDs need transferring over, companies need to be notified and so on, which is a pain in the *rse... unless you keep the 2 accounts running and just transfer amounts over to the old one to cover bills instread.

I was turned dowm the 1st time, but left it a year... by which time a couple of defaults had falled of the CR... ;) I now have the 2 accounts running together. The Reward a/c is for salary credits only and the other account is for bills only... which works very well.

My only bugbear with it is that they give you an overdraft facility which I don't want and have no ontention of using. I assume this is so that they can get their precious £5 back through customers getting complacent and going into the red.

No chance Halifax... ;)
