Hi MR

I would be careful. I can't find much on the access company. If you have their website you could check the consumer credit licence numbers to see if they are the same. Could be a broker who would give your bank details to all and sundry. If it is Tower they would be very interested if you owe them!

I live on the South coast (although not in Bournemouth), and I have to say there seems to be an awful lot of "sub-prime" type lenders in that place. I believe the infamous FLM loan company also originate there. I've often wondered if any of them were connected in some way...

Just a quick note - I speak as a director of Access.

1. We do not cold call clients - if you have been persistently called it is because you (or someone using your information) has made an application to us.

2. We do not harrass clients - if you have been "persistently" called it is because we have received "persistent" applications.

3. I would have expected that someone providing both ours and Tower's CCLs would have reassured you that we were unconnected but here it is from the horses mouth. ACCESS FAST MONEY IS NOT CONNECTED IN ANY WAY TO TOWER CAPITAL OR FLM.

Marvellous. Could you enlighten me though how Access Fast Money can take £500 out of my bank account £100 a time even though I did not give them my new bank details???

Source, I am unable to answer your question simply because I have no idea who you are.

To reassure you, I regularly read these forums and blogs and am generally happy to report that some I do not see anything that Access does in any of the behaviour that is sometimes reported about some of our competitors.

May I ask, have you contacted us to discuss these collections and, if so, were you satisfied with the explanation? Did the payment relate to a loan which was due or overdue and, if overdue, had you contacted us for our assistance?

We take a very responsible attitude to debt recovery and are always receptive to proposals for repayment if a customer is having difficulty repaying their debt to us.

If you feel that our action has given cause for complaint please contact me directly (contact numbers are available on our website, forgive me I am not sure if the rules allow me to publish that information in this platform).

I will be happy to discuss your case personally but, regrettably, I am unwilling to discuss personal details relating to your application and debt situation on a public platform such as this. As well as our obligations under the Data Protection Act, I genuinely have no desire to cause any embarrassment to you.

I look forward to your contact.

Hi, thanks for posting the above info for Source, I hope it will help resolve their situation.

Can you confirm Access Fast Money is not in any way linked to any other payday loan company and that you do not share customer's bank details with any other payday company. The reason I ask is that there appears to be some sharing of information among some payday lenders which people are not aware of at the time of applying.

Hi, thanks for posting the above info for Source, I hope it will help resolve their situation.

Can you confirm Access Fast Money is not in any way linked to any other payday loan company and that you do not share customer's bank details with any other payday company.

This I believe is the reason behind why I cannot pay my rent this month. I was advised by the government debtline that if I was in financial difficulty the first thing I needed to do was change my bank so that I could manage my money and prioritise those bills (rent, council tax, gas and electric etc) that were most important.

Well I've tried to do this but obviously my details have been shared via another payday loan company. Now I cannot pay my rent again which is not good as I am already behind.

It's obvious WHY Access Fast Money took £100 once, twice, three times... up to £500 to see how much money they could withdrawal out of my account. They just kept going til they had the lot! Left me with about £30 to last me nearly a month :-(

It goes on, we all know it does. These payday loan companies try anything to get their money while I'm just trying to sort my life out financially and get myself back on track.

I'm not sure what to really do, will I get my money back so I can pay my rent? Or do I have to take this further as I never authorised them to take the money, I didn't give them any new bank details :-(

I cannot find the website and contact details in question, there are loads that want you to access fast money so I'm not sure which one. I really don't mind paying off 50 a month or something - just so I can have that money back so I can pay my rent :-/

I haven't contacted the company yet because I was a tad upset to be honest, I went into my bank and ended up in tears: asking how could they let all this money just be taken out. There has been a family bereavement so my priorities are elsewhere at the moment.

You should most certainly get in touch as liveinhope1 has suggested and ask the question, then post on here what response you get. Have you contacted Trading Standards ? they may be able to get an answer for you.

That's what my bank advised me to do. I'm not sure where I stand to be honest as I do actually owe the money, I just did not authorise these payments to go out and most certainly did not hand over my new bank details.

The government helpline said to sort out my rent and utility arrears before any payday loan arrears.

I'll try searching for the website again. Fingers crossed.

I will go to trading standards if I'm not satisfied with any outcome, it's messed up all my repayment plans elsewhere!

Thanks ;)

Hi Source

Just to let you know I defaulted on a loan with AFM and contacted them to let them know, to be fair to them they were actually really good about it and set up a repayment plan straight away with no hassle at all

I'd suggest calling them and explaining your situation, they may be reasonable and refund you some of what they took - which to be fair they shouldn't have done but it seems common practice in this industry.

Do you need their phone number? I might have it somewhere if you do

Thanks Pink Panther, a number would be great if you have it, not sure if u r okay to openly post it though?

Unfortunately I have far too many loans and overdrafts to sort out repayment plans with all of them. I am however looking to pay off the small high interest loans before any other so will defo contact AFM. Just makes me irritated when some companies have to result to such lows really to get what they want

Well here it is - if it gets removed just let me know and I'll DM it to you, but it's public information so no reason why it should?

Tel: 0871 2883753*

Fax: 0871 2883751

I dealt with a guy called Keith there who works in Credit Control, he was very reasonable. Although his email was the same as all the others use - the info@ address

Good Luck!

Thank you Ell-enn, and well done for allowing absolutely no wriggle room in the wording of your request. Please see my reply below and allow me to repeat your encouragement for Source to contact us to discuss their situation.

Access Fast Money is a trading style of Access Mortgage Underwriting Limited. As the name would suggest, it would be impossible for me to confirm that we are not connected “in any other way” with other lenders. I can confirm however that Access Mortgage Underwriting Limited has no shareholding or stake-holding in any other lending institutions or payday loan companies. Neither do any other lending institutions or payday loan companies have any shareholding or stake-holding in Access Mortgage Underwriting Limited.

With regards to the sharing of information, in common with the majority of lenders, our terms and conditions allow us to share information with other lenders, agencies and authorities for the prevention of fraud, assistance in underwriting and recovery of bad debt.

We believe that the information should be available to customers before any commitment is reached and these terms and conditions which are available on our website accessfastmoney.co.uk (I will repost without the website if it is not acceptable) before an application needs to be completed.

To re-iterate (and I hope that this is borne out by Pink Panther’s kind remarks) we are not rogues, we try to be fair to all of our customers but, as with any situation involving financial difficulties, we rely entirely on the willingness of the customer to be open and frank in their dealings with us (which includes responding to our attempts to communicate).

Hi thanks for the above info - however I think you have "wriggled" slightly - you have not entirely answered what I consider to be the most important question i.e.

do you share your customer's' bank account details with any other companies ?

Well he said that his terms and conditions stated they DO share information between other lenders in respect to the recovery of debt.

I guess I didn't pay back my loan on time, so they got my new bank details off another loan company and simply stole money out of my new account.

That's the reason why they withdrew £100 at a time, then a sixth time taking £49, to see how much they could take.

I needed to apply for another payday loan to cover that £549 BUT due to the way AFM took the money out, (not all in one chunk) I have been refused. My rent hasn't been paid now and I'm facing eviction purely because I wasn't allowed to manage my own wages!!

I'm just at a loss now. Thanks pink panther for the numbers, I will try tonight and update on what happened.

If I'm not re-imbursed part or all then I'm off to trading standards and then the fraud dept of my bank.

:-( :-( :-(

Update: need to call back tomorrow, in office hours (whatever they are, my office works 6am to 2pm lol)

I'll post again tomorrow, hopefully it will be with good news.
