Hi, I recently paid a fine to X-Cel Pa rkng (not bad grammer, to fool the search engines sorry) on behalf of my parents, oonly to recieve another letter claiming that it was unpaid and that I owed more money. I paid via their website and when I called to query this I was told that the system had problems and I was required to send a bank statement showing the payment. I refuse to do this, as I have exact time and date of the payment on a RBS receipt yet they simply refuse to do anything about this.

If it were upto me I would just forget it, but my parents worry. Can anyone suggest a course of action?

I guess it's too late to ask why on earth you paid them in the first place. :(

Never mind, it's done now, I just hope it is the last payment you ever think of giving them for theit scamvoices.

On this current situation, just completely ignore them. They are not going to court with this, but if they do, just turn up at court with your proof of payment and your expenses bill for the day that they have cost you. :)

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I didnt do my research before hand and assumed it was all above board. My parents just wanted it out of the way and done with. So we paid up the initial £40 and chalked it up to experience.

Thanks for calling me a mug ¬_¬

I think Hanley duck meant to say "send a demand to an honest citizen who couldn't believe such underhand low-lifes existed and therefore believed the scamvoice was a legitamate fine".... or something to that effect. :D

Thanks Crem. Should have worded it better. I meant that the underhand low lifes think he is a mug, not me!
