Question I need help on.

3 months ago I handed my notice to employer. My notice period is 6 months. I have continued to work my notice. Job does not suit me as it is UK wide and I cannot do this due to family so desperatley need a change.

I have now received an offer to start a new job on 1st November close to my home so it is ideal. However this means me leaving 4 months into my 6 months notice.

Advice needed

Can I walk away??

What is my best tactic??

I think my present company will not let me go easily??

Any help welcomed

BRassica,

If I were you, I would approach my manager and explain that you have domestic issues that need you to be at/ near home. Ask if you can terminate early. They prob wont, as the six months notice is so they can recruit a replacement. Succession planning, I think it is called. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply Scousegeezer.

Part of my problem is my partner who is now on anti depressants due to my working away and she has all the family stuff to do on her own.

Yes maybe I should bring this to the fore.

no employer should refuse you under these circumstances : Part of my problem is my partner who is now on anti depressants due to my working away and she has all the family stuff to do on her own.

Yes maybe I should bring this to the fore.

as stated if there is no clause i'd walk now, there is little they can / will want to do if the above is true.

just think of the bad publicity or what head office would say about it.

good luck

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
