Ltiile help with the following would be good but I already suspect this is a ploy to gain my signature and do a little clipart fun with it..

My account is still with Cap one with about 500 owing...rang them a couple of weeks ago ( after trying numerous numbers and depts ) and eventually spoke to someone who said account now passed on but could not give me details to who..

I send a complaint letter stating that I was not happy they had passed on account after I was trying to resolve the issue and make payment (well looks good on paper if it gets to court)

Anyway got a letter saying we cannot look into your complaint until we have your signature..!!?....I don't think so...I'm sure I have seen on this forum that documents could be doctored by doing this...and Im sure by law a signature is not required...any advice ?

Hi JJ

We always advise to print your name rather than use a normal signature, there is nothing wrong with doing that and creditors/DCAs cannot force people to provide specimen signatures. The Information Commissioner has provided guidelines on this matter:

You could use a digital signature:

WARNING TO ALL

Please be aware of acting on advice given by PM .Anyone can make mistakes and if advice is given on the main forum people can see it to correct it ,if given privately then no one can see it to correct it. Please also be aware of giving your personal details to strangers
