I had dealings , correspondence etc. with a banks solicitors while reclaiming my bank charges , I recently sent them a standard access request fior all of this , the solicitors wrote back saying they kept no record of litigation etc. Are they immune from the Data protection Act ?

As far as I'm aware, solicitors are certainly not immune from the DPA.

 

Indeed, they should be making sure they comply with it.

 

Report them to the ICO, I'm sure they'll change their tack when the ICO charge them for investigating your complaint.

 

Also report them to the Solicitors Regulatory Authority
