linked address and credit agencies

does any body no for definate how long linked address stay on your credit file,

ive been in contact with the cra and i would not trust them one bit,

 

under the dpa, the details should be deleated after six years, just like account info when the account is closed

are you wanting to potentially take out credit on the old linked address? is that why you want to know? i'd say once linked, always linked my friend. take a look at the sticky re the N Hunter system. i'd say you have a good chance (especially if you have a mortgage somewhere in your name/national ins number/general details etc) of still being on the radar. although they would say they don't keep your details for a longer period then allowed, they probably do

the point i am making is cra are only supposed to process your data up to six years after it was last active then deleate,

 

that goes for credit accounts/defaults/ccj etc

 

so why not linked address

 

why do they stay on your file after six years

 

can you demand that stop processing that data and remove the data also

maybe send them a Subject Access Request - should be templates in this site. I believe this will tell you ALL info they have on you which they have to provide by law. this should get you all the info you need.

just bumping again

 

we all know the cra keep linked address on your credit file

its the searches i am disputing

i have a few linked address from a search by dlc from 10 years ago

the linked address stay there but not the company doing the search

 

any comments

 

its just i have 16 outstanding searches from linked address from 10 years ago all in dca names

thought i would get to the bottom of this,

being a member of credit expert, i have just been on the phone to experian.

talk about waffle.

they maintain the 6 year rule is only for credit accounts, linked address do not apply,

crap,

well i spouted info comm, oft,

what statute they were relying on to continue to hold my data, etc

 

getting a call back now by 6pm, i hope

 

all this is over is welcome finance have been loged as a creditor doing a serch making the linked address 4 times,

 

i want welcome off my credit record, period

 

let you know about developments when they call

Did they ring you back regarding the linked address? I am also going through the same but the reply i got was 8 years even though there is nothing written down as such to back this up.
