Dear All,

I have recently suffered Meniere's disease and followed the advice to declare to DVLA. Of course lost the ability to drive. Underwent a complex operation which has cured me of attacks and have been attack free for over the required three months. Have applied to DVLA for the licence together with reports from the consultant surgeon and the GP indicating I was cured and fit to drive. DVLA have put up barriers send back form etc all by 2nd class post. Still not get it back despite a plea from my employers to get me back driving asap as it is costing them an unnecessary apcket.

Had a full set licence with all the historical classes and now need a D4 medical to get back the ability to tow the trailer (nearly 1 ton) that I want to tow again. Just read the blurb and it now says attack free for 12 months to get the trailer licence back. What a load of buraeucracy, if I am fit to drive a car, have powed numerous traileres for 40 years and am now fit again the licence should be restored in full. What are my rights in all this. My 85 year old mother can get her licence back 1st class post within a week. I am just a boy by comparison.

I thought the country wanted people back to work.
