Hi Worried,

What sort of debt is it that Cabot are chasing you for?

If you can give us more information about it you will get better advice.

If possible can you say what type of debt it is, and roughly when you took it out?

I don't know anything much about secured loans, but someone will be along soon who will be able to advice you properly. Good luck and welcome to the forum. Patma

send crabot a cca request, found in the templates library "N" send with a £1 postal order do not sign the letter just print send by recorded delivery

send swift a SAR request costs £10 to see what has been added to account and why, this will take 40 days for them to comply then we can stat to reclaim any charges etc they have applied

A CCA is a consumer credit agreement and what you are doing when you send a CCA request is to ask for a copy of the agreement which should have been properly signed and executed. The agreement has by law to be set out in a certain way and if it doesn't conform then it isn't enforceable in law. That's why we always do a CCA request, because very often, what they will send, if they send anything at all, will not comply.

When you send the template letter, be sure not to sign it with your signature, just print your name and send a £1 postal order. It is also best to send it by recorded delivery, or better still, if you can afford it, by special delivery.

When you get a response, post it on here and then we can see whether it's likely to be enforceable or not.Good luck, Patma
