Best dial-up provider for service/perfmance

I want a good provider for the old dial up service, any recommendations?

Dial up?? Can't remember that. Must be something from the dawn of time!

 

Ok in all seriousness, it depends how long you want to sign up for and if you want to pay a monthly fee (in which case broadband is defo the better option) or if you want to pay as you go for the time you are connected in which case more or less any provider will offer a similar sort of thing really

Virgin 3p per min. No contract, no subscription.

 

All dial-up is only good for email or it can work out expensive with all companies if you go surfing.

Tiscali charge 4p / 3p / 1p (day / eveneing weekend) per minute

or £15 for up to 150 hours per month

 

was ok when I used them back in the stone age

 

Orange charge

5p / 4p / 2p

was ok when it was freeserve but that was even longer ago

 

 

Remember to set your disconnect after x minutes if idle to something like 5 minutes & connect automatically when required - especially if you are doing email. You don't need to be connected as you type
