Overdraft charges can only at present be reclaimed or attempted using hardship criteria

Hi Alison,

 

If this was a one-off error on your part, call the bank and tell them this was an oversight and you would like the charges refunded and will take care to see it doesn't happen again. They'll normally refund but if they don't, ask to speak to a supervisor.

 

If the same thing has happened during the last 12 months, you may not get a refund.

 

it's different with Credit Cards, Catalogues, Bank Loans and Mortgages - default fees should still be reclaimed for these. But not with bank current accounts.
