Currently if accessing iPlayer you have to click on the declaration "I have a TV licence" to access the service but very shortly you will need a password. However the situation seems to be different for Radio Iplayer which is a separate service. Currently no declaration is demanded to access the radio service as no licence is needed - the Radio Licence was abolished in February 1971. I suspect the present situation will still prevail after the TV service becomes passworded. No licence is needed to listen to any radio service, BBC, commercial or amateur.

I purchased a 5 year old car on Friday- which should have had on board Sat Nav. Dealer said Sat Nav was broken, so replaced the radio with franchise CD player. However, on collecting car- now find that although the radio/CD works, there is no Bluetooth hands free, no clock, no steering wheel controls and no code supplied for replacement (bog standard cheap!) radio. The advert stated all of the above but the replacement unit is obviously incompatible with the standard spec radio which gives all the other functions. Taking car back tomorrow, but any advice on how to play this would be appreciated

When my wife drove my LR discovery for MOT in a big garage chain, all lights were off on the dash before MOT. But after MOT, ABS, HDC, TC and brake system lights are on, never off, radio also is not powered on. MOT failed for ABS light. I asked them to reset all lights. They said they followed the procedure, they are not responsible. Who should I complain to? Thanks in advance Kai

My VW Tiguan is fitted with a Radio , satnav, media player unit , this is a £1700 extra on the car , the car is 3 yrs 3 m old , forgot to take out exended warantee ,so kicking ones self .a direct purchace replacement is around £2k Question is Could I expect any recorse under sale of goods regs , should I challenge VW for poor quality equipment ?

Interesting epetition just found.Personally i am sick of seeing gambling adverts on TV. Trying to draw people in.I have never really looked at it before so just had a quick look round and it is surprising how big some of these companies are.Are more people getting addicted,i do not know,perhaps you do. Everyone in the adverts is so happy but how many are being taken in,getting into difficulties,do you know. But the sheer amount of money now being spent on TV advertising must be paying off.It is everywhere you look. From the radio 4 "You And Yours" web page, http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01jrlf1 heard this item about somebody being chased by cabot for an alleged debt that is 15 years old. Unfortunately it's not on iPlayer so quick précis, this was a credit card from capital finance that was cancelled in 1997. Due to the last payment on the card not going in on time there was a small charge but CF said don't worry the account is closed and you won't hear from us. roll on 15 yrs and enter cabot claiming about £46.
