  1. Hi, I bought some items from Thomann.de in December last year. Paid by Paypal. Got 'Payment accepted' notice and items arrived. A few weeks ago I get an e-mail from Thomann asking me to pay an outstanding balance. I thought it was some sort of phishing [problem], but after checking it out, everything seemed legit. I replied asking them what I owed them money for (at this point still assuming the order that was completed 4 months ago was, indeed, completed..) Apparently, my Paypal payment didn't go through at the time, but they sent the items anyway and opened an account.... I never received the supposed e-mail, and (as I pointed out in my reply) never responded to give this the OK... Thomann clearly weren't happy with that response as the next message contained a threat of a debt collection agency: In my response, I expressed my disappointment in them so readily resorting to threats, but also continued on the path to resolution: That was sent to them on Thursday (13th April). All the correspondence above were on the same day with messages about an hour apart. Today I get an e-mail from debt collectors.... I responded immediately with: Then I started searching the net for advice and found this place. Probably should have done that the other way round! So, where do you think I stand on all this? I think the two resolution offers I gave to Thomann are more than fair and reasonable considering the circumstances. They clearly disagree, but surely they don't have the right to pass onto a debt collector at this point?? edit: Forgot to add, the amount is £87.52
  2. Hello, sorry for posting in this section but I followed a music licence related-post I found through google. I am a PhD student and I am writing a publication on classical music. I'd like to show in my publication 4 musical fragments taken from 4 different musical pieces of 4 different authors, two of whom from the beginning of the twentieth century and the remaining from the mid-century. I would like to ask if I have to license the material and, if yes, how or where I can find more detailed information about. Luca
  3. Can someone give a name to the opening music for this http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04p604m please. Thanks very much
  4. Hi all, Little bit of info that may be useful to you. I'm thinking of changing my phone, and one option I'm looking at is an iPhone. My car has built-in bluetooth, which does support the A2DP protocol that Apple (and maybe others) needs to allow you to play music from the phone via the in-car bluetooth. I'm glad I decided to check whether it would work before I changed my phone as this is the main reason I wanted a new phone. My car (11 plate Mondeo Titanium X) contains a Sony CD DAB unit with A2DP enabled bluetooth. Not sure about others, but I thought it'd be worth mentioning this little snippet.
  5. Hi all, Was thinking about this one today while heading down to Ripon. The sun was out, and the climate control was keeping me nice and cool. So, what's everyone favourite driving music. Mine differs a lot depending on many factors. Usually I listen to 70s/80s rock, but if the traffic's bad, and/or it's raining, and/or i've got a headache, nothing is better than the Abba Gold CD. Of course, if I really want to put my boot down, Deep Purple's Speedking does the job. When I upgrade my phone, I'll stick all my music on that and I'll have the lot playable via bluetooth in the car. Then I'll have a song for ever occasion.
