  1. Hi All I came back from work yesterday to find that there are double yellow lines outside my council house and around the corner. I assume the council put them there (they look like they've been painted by someone after a heavy liquid lunch) the lines are 55mm wide the the cap between them varies from 30mm to 70mm. As I'm near the end of the terrace, the lines start outside my house, go up the road and around the bend, going up that road. My questions are:- 1) Should the council advertise that the lines are being put there prior to painting 2) Should there be parking restriction signs to accompany these lines 3) Should these lines confirm to a standard for the to be legal 4) Should there be plans lodged somewhere to state the how far these lines come down the straight bit of road after the bend As always, thanks in advance EOS-5D
  2. Hi All, After many years of stressful negotiations, hard work and lots of help from people on here - I have had a clean Credit File for the past two years. All of my old Debts are off and I have been able to move on with my life credit wise(ly). There are a couple of accounts still active on which I am just paying a token amount of £1 on. I wont go into the details, but basically I'm going to stop paying the token amount - my total Debts add up to about £7k over 5 or six accounts and the amounts vary from £200 to £2k. Basically, I'm just going to stop paying them. They have been getting paid for around 10 years and really, I want to put it all behind me for good and move on. My worry is, if I stop paying them - although they are off my Credit Account, can they reappear in the form of a CCJ etc if the DCA brings action against me? I'm not asking for a morally opinionated answer, but rather a can they come back to haunt me ? Thanks in advance!. Scotty
  3. Long story slightly shorter. We had a other party fault accident last year, which is been sort of resolved, although I do have a complaint in with the Legal Ombudsman regarding this. However for the past 3 weeks I am constantly being bombarded by calls from supposedly different companies all with a Manchester selection of phone numbers, all want to talk to me about last years accident. Today I had enough so I questioned the company of the day, as with the others I give no information out and I confirm or deny nothing BUT this guy knows whre the accident happened, who was involved, the street, the other party's name and everything. He said my insurance company can legally sell on my details on this accident for TWO years. He also said we are due a payment between £2500-3000, I assume that's a pile of poo, although I'd love for one of you to confirm otherwise! So to confirm my question - is the true, that they are selling my details on and is there anyway of stopping them?

  6. Hi all, I'll keep it short. I have a DCA chasing me for a debt from just less than 6 years ago. I received the papers from Northampton and sent in a defence and it looks like it's going to court. I would be mortified if my friends and family found out i was having to deal with issues this way - will my name appear in local newspapers/on the internet? I receive the local paper and quite often they list the criminal cases and outcomes at the magistrates court but never seemingly the debt related stuff.. .can anyone tell me if this sort of information is available/easy for people to find? Also the original creditor and dca have been sending correspondence to the wrong address. I have correspondence from them back in the day proving they did have the right address however everything they have sent me has gone astray. The only reason i know about the court case is that it was re-directed whereas most innocuous looking stuff is returned to sender/binned etc. If i haven't been receiving their correspondence due to an incorrect address and it is their error does it matter that they show that they sent it, i.e. is it a defence?
  7. It appears that emails with an attachment are being sent to people regarding a Notice to Appear in Court. If you open the attachment more than likely it is a virus, so beware!
